1. Applicant Criteria
B. Applicant must be sponsored by a Society member (may be a relative).
B. Transcript - Application letter should include high school and college transcripts.
C. Recommendations - Two recommendation letters are required, one of which must be written by a former teacher and the other by a member of the Society.
4. Scholarship GuidelinesThe Scholarship Committee consists of two members of the Society, each appointed by the President. In addition, the President and Treasurer serve as ex-officio members of the committee.
5. Deadline for SubmissionScholarship applications will be considered without regard to race, creed or color. Scholarships for the 2001-2002 year will be in the amount to be determined by the committee, but generally do not exceed $1,000. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are made for the academic year. Therefore, recipients must resubmit materials for consideration each year in order to be considered for additional funds.
6. Announcement of WinnersCompleted letters of application should be submitted to the Scholarship Committee chairmen by June 1, 2001. The selection committee will announce scholarship recipients by July 15, 2001. Recipients will be notified by mail or telephone call.
