The South Carolina State Society, Inc. of Washington, DC is a nonprofit section 501(c)(7) organization affiliated with the National Conference of State Societies. We are made up of over 600 South Carolinians living and working in the Washington, DC area. We have a diverse membership base and an active Board of Directors who are committed to maintaining a link to our home state while here in the Nation's Capital. Our members work in congressional offices, federal agencies, educational institutions, corporate headquarters, trade associations, and the private sector. We also enjoy tremendous support from the South Carolina Congressional Delegation, most of whom have staffers serving on our Board.

 The South Carolina State Society sponsors events throughout the year, including our annual "Carolina in the Capital" party, a Congressional Reception for the SC Congressional Delegation, and various social events with other state societies and South Carolina groups. In addition, the South Carolina State Society is proud to be a part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival each spring, where we sponsor the South Carolina Cherry Blossom Princess.
