Cyber Alumni
Now there are two ways to
keep up with the goings-on with the UK DC Almuni Chapter. If you
want to make the first move, you can check out the website here.
[FYI – In previous years, we’ve been fortunate enough to find a corporate
sponsor for the site. If there is a generous corporation out there
who’d like their name prominently displayed on our site, $225 is a lot
cheaper than what PSI paid to name the Raven’s stadium! Just let
any Alumni officer know if you are interested.]
If you’d like to get e-mail updates, please send your e-mail address to our VP (just one heart beat -- or one year -- away from being top dog) Phillip Elder at philipelder@wdc.fsa.usda.gov. You’ll get updates on Alumni activities, the Kentucky Society and other Kentucky-related doings. Past events have included the Kentucky Inagural Ball, dinner or receptions with Kentucky coaches & players and a pre-Kentucky Derby party.
Come Watch Kentucky Football & Basketball at Grevey's
Grevey's will televise all games that are available live. If you have any questions, call Grevey's the day of the game at (703) 560-8530. Always show them your alumni membership card so they will know the degree of our support. Grevey's has agreed to make a charitable donation based on the revenue they generate from the Alumni group. Also, please tip the service staff generously for their good service. We want to be very welcome guests for a long time to come.
If you need to join the alumni association, renew your membership, or get a replacement card, please call 1-800-269-ALUM (2586).

We
Need Your Support
In the past, we have been reluctant to ask club members to donate funds to the local club. Our expenses are usually minimal, and special events pay for themselves. However, part of our success as a club is determined by how much money we can raise. The availability of basketball and football tickets are determined based on points systems, which include club donations to the scholarship fund. Likewise, our stature as a club is also reflected in our fundraising. We are currently the 4th largest out-of-state club in the country, but our annual donations to the scholarship fund are normally well below the 10 largest out-of-state clubs, despite living in one of the affluent areas in the nation. Our goal is to become the largest out-of-state club and one of the biggest fundraising clubs within the alumni association. We can only do that through the support of our members. Accomplishing those goals will give us more credibility and clout with the Alumni Association and the University. In addition, we will have the financial means to provide club members with timely information and an increase in club activities. Please put back into the club what you get out of it.
